Premarital

For those situations where couples desire to clarify or resolve issues prior to marriage, the collaborative process can be used.  One partner may need to protect assets belonging to their extended family; another client may wish to protect assets intended to pass to grown children or other relatives.  The legal integrity of premarital agreements often relies on full disclosure of information, which is a cornerstone of the collaborative process.  Both parties would be represented by counsel, ensuring that both clients are fully informed of their rights and the personal and legal effect of any waivers.

Postmarital

An inheritance, some other significant financial change, a change in family relationships - any number of situations can prompt the need for a postmarital agreement.  The collaborative process can also be used in these situations to resolve issues in a confidential, respectful manner, achieving a result that is best for everyone involved.
